You might be wondering and must be so confused with all SS, RP, P&G, GM and other coupon lingo that you always see on our posts, other blogs and coupon forums….
WELL, here’s a very easy way to understand them with pictures! Enjoy!

Anh Mark and I constantly use these coupon lingo and we’ve found them to be the best way to understand this couponing lifestyle.

•Q: Coupon

•MQ: manufacturer coupon

•Catalina/Cat= these are the precious value coupons that cashiers will hand to you after you’re done checking out. They’re usually random and will print out based on what you buy or how many you buy

•SC: store coupon (I’ll usually use this when I’m posting about a deal for that store)
** you can always combine one MQ with one SC for one item aka stacking ***

*P&G= Procter & Gamble

*SS= Smart Source

*RP= Red Plum

*GM= General Mills

*B1G1F= Buy 1 Get One Free

*B2G1F= Buy 2 Get One Free

*BOGO 50%/BOGO1/2P= Buy One Get 2nd One 50% Off

*$1/1 Febreeze 8/28 P&G= you can find this coupon in the P&G 8/28/11 insert

*2/$5= 2 for $5

*GC= gift card (you will see this a lot for Target each week)

*EXP= Expires on/Expires

*OOP= out of pocket

*OOS= out of stock

*PSA= price starting at

*ETS= Exclude trial size

*RC= rain check

*DND = Do not Double

*DOUBLE COUPON – Value of the coupon can be doubled. Having a .50 off coupon for an item will count as $1 off at stores that double.
Stores that double in DMV: Bloom, Giant, Shoppers, Wegmans, Harris Teeter, Safeway (double check with your store and see if they do)

***Bloom has their Super Double Day once a month usually the first of every month. What’s so great about this? Well most stores double only up to .99 so all your $1 coupons are useless. But on Super Double Day you can finally use your $1 or $1.50 coupons! ***

•MIR= mail in rebate

•FAR= FREE AFTER REBATE

•WYB= When You Buy

•OYNSO= on your next shopping order

•OYNST= on your next shopping trip

*OYFP: on your future purchase

Types of Coupons and where to find them~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1. Most coupons are from the Sunday’s newspapers~ usually they have the high value coupon especially if the item is new to the market and rebate forms

2. IPQ/IP= Internet coupon

2. Catalina/Cat= coupon printed out for you at check out~ these precious little coupons are not trash. I’ve seen many people toss them away immediately right after the cashiers handed them their Catalina
Usually a Catalina coupon is good for $ off your next order or $ off for an item. At Target I’ve received both MQ and Target store coupon Catalina

I paid less than 25 cents for these two fabulous items for combining the MQ & Cat.

3. All You magazine= you can subscribe or buy this mag at Walmart’s

4. Peelies= coupons that are peel-able and they’re usually located directly on the products.
Don’t forget to peel the coupon off at checkout.
Please don’t take peelies if you don’t buy the product then and there. Thank you.

5. HT= Hang Tags~ usually can be found on water, special drinks, wine, shower gel, shampoo, pasta sauce etc

Same as peelies please be considerate and don’t take the HT unless you plan to use it during your shopping trip.

6. Blinkies= you can find these machines located in the aisle all over the stores (usually dairy) and they dispense one coupon at a time

7. Tear pads= you can find these coupons on special product displays (example for Back to School month I saw empty tear pad on a big school bus at Giant)

8. FB= companies want everyone to buy their products so they always have special promotions and coupons on FB

9. Email= we get special offers send to us all the time for eating out, shopping and everything else daily

10. Stores’ weekly ad= RA & Walgreens usually always have in ad coupons to help you save money by stacking their coupons with MQ

11. Saving Star= We absolutely love Saving Star. If you dislike having to clip or print coupons you will love Saving Star. Don’t forget to check them out here and download their app to your iPhone.

12. Ecoupons= this is from Bloom’s site: eCoupons are indispensable little gems that allow you to load coupons and offers directly to your Breeze Card – no need to print (although you can if you want). ONLY the printable coupons will double (on days when Bloom accepts double coupons). Just purchase the specified products in accordance with the coupon terms, scan your Breeze Card and instantly receive your savings at checkout. Be sure to note any specific purchase requirements or restrictions. Happy clicking!

Rite Aid~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*RA= Rite Aid (my favorite drugstore)

•UP+= UP Reward from RA (you’ll receive your UP at check out when you buy the item with the UP offer)

Don’t ever throw out your UP~ they’re your money for Rite Aid.

•VVC= video values coupon from RA (you will earn the VVC when you watch the videos)

You get the VVC when you watch the short videos. You also don’t need to print them right away after watching them. They will be your “Rewards” section. But if you don’t watch them when they’re available you will lose them.

•RC= RA’s in ad coupon (this coupon can be found in the ad)

•SCR: Single Check Rebate (you can find the monthly SCR’s booklet by the registers with the RA’s weekly circular)

TIP: If you are able to get a deal using MQ, SCR, UP (your previous earned UP), more awesome if you can earn new UP, and the item also qualifies for SCR~ that’s an awesome MONEY MAkER!
IF POSSIBLE, always combine a deal with mail in rebate if there is one available.

CVS~~~~~~~~~~~~•••~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

•ECB/EC= Extra Care Buck (same as RA’s UP~ they will print out for you when you check out)

•RTC= red tape coupon that is printed out from the Coupon Center located in CVS (I love, love these!)
I make it a wonderful habit to always scan our card first thing each time I stop in CVS.

Walgreens~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

•Wags= Walgreens

•RR= Register Rewards (same as UP & ECB and will print out for you when you check out)

•IVC – Walgreen’s Instant Value Coupon
